Dangote Refinery Commences Local Petrol Production  

Alhaji Aliko Dangote, Chairman of the Dangote Group, has announced that the Dangote Refinery is set to release its first batch of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), commonly known as petrol, for local consumption.

Dangote made this announcement on Tuesday during a media briefing at the Dangote Refinery located in the Ibeju-Lekki area of Lagos State.

He expressed gratitude to President Bola Tinubu for facilitating the realization of local petrol refining.

He also extended his thanks to Nigerians for their moral support and to the media for their unbiased coverage of the Dangote Refinery’s journey from inception to its current state.

Dangote highlighted that local refining of petrol would alleviate the recurring issue of sourcing foreign exchange for importation.

Following the briefing, the chairman led the media team on a tour of the $20 billion refinery, which boasts a capacity of 650,000 barrels per day.
