Yusuf Denies Knowledge of Alleged Contract to Kwankwaso’s Brother, Orders Investigation

Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano State has instructed the State Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission (PCACC) to investigate the alleged contract awarded for the supply of drugs to the 44 Local Government Councils in the state.
The governor also denied any knowledge of the contract, which was reportedly awarded to Musa Garba Kwankwaso, believed to be the brother of Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, the leader of the Kwankwasiyya movement.
According to Daily Trust, US-born filmmaker and content creator Bello Galadanchi released an exposé alleging that the state government directed all 44 Local Government Councils to pay N10 million each for the supply of drugs, which was awarded to a company named Novomed, owned by Musa Garba Kwankwaso.
The exposé has sparked widespread reactions and discussions across social media platforms.
In a statement jointly signed by Commissioner of Information Baba Halilu Dantiye and Director General of Media and Publicity to the Governor, Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, Yusuf denied any knowledge of the contract.
“The Governor has therefore directed the Executive Chairman of the Kano State Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission (PCACC) to immediately investigate the allegation and report the findings for further necessary action.
“Governor Yusuf also urged the good people of Kano State to exercise patience pending the outcome of the investigation,” the statement read.
