Super Eagles: Labbadia to Announce Foreign Assistants
Bruno Labbadia

Newly-appointed Super Eagles head coach, Bruno Labbadia, is set to name his foreign assistants.

According to DAILY POST, Labbadia’s appointment was confirmed on Tuesday.

The German coach is expected to bring in two foreign assistants, while the remaining positions will be filled by local coaches appointed by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).

Reports suggest that Labbadia will choose his foreign assistants from Erdinç Sözer, Olaf Janßen, and Bernhard Trares.

Sözer, considered Labbadia’s most reliable assistant, is likely to be his first choice. The duo has previously worked together at several clubs, including Bayer Leverkusen, VfB Stuttgart, VfL Wolfsburg, and Hertha Berlin.

Sözer is currently without a job after leaving Turkish side Samsunspor on June 30, 2024.

Former centre-back Trares began working with Labbadia in 2015 at Hamburg and continued their partnership at VfB Stuttgart. He is also currently without a club.

Janßen, who is currently managing Viktoria Köln, may not be available due to his commitments at the club.
