Sanwo-Olu and Ambode Discuss Future of Lagos |
Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State recently met with his predecessor, Akinwunmi Ambode, to discuss the future of the state.
Sanwo-Olu shared that their conversation focused on continuing to build on the solid foundation already in place for Lagos.
Posting on his X page on Monday, Sanwo-Olu wrote: “Today, I welcomed my brother and predecessor, Governor Akinwunmi Ambode, back to Lagos House on a courtesy visit.
“Our discussion centered around the future of Lagos and building on the solid foundation already in place. I value his perspective as we work together to ensure that Lagos remains on the path of growth and development.”
Ambode, who served as governor from 2015, lost his reelection bid in 2019 to Sanwo-Olu.
During the All Progressives Congress (APC) primary election, Ambode had a significant fallout with Sanwo-Olu.
However, the two mended fences in 2023 when they met publicly at a reception organized in honor of President Bola Tinubu at Lagos House in the Marina area of the state.
It was the first time Sanwo-Olu, Ambode, and another former Lagos governor, Babatunde Fashola, had met in over four years since internal conflicts affected the ruling political class in the state.
