Guardiola: No Early Season Title Drive |
Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has surprisingly declared that he currently lacks motivation to win the Premier League title. Despite the club's dominance, securing four consecutive titles, and aiming for a seventh in eight years, Guardiola's focus is firmly on the present.
The Spaniard insists that his desire to win the league will intensify as the season progresses. For now, his attention is solely on their opening match against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.
"The motivation to win another Premier League will come when we're in the final stretch, close to lifting the trophy," Guardiola said. "But right now, my focus is entirely on beating Chelsea."
City have already kickstarted their season with a Community Shield victory over Manchester United.
