This week, the Naira experienced two consecutive gains against the Dollar in the foreign exchange market.

According to FMDQ data, the Naira appreciated to N1601 per dollar on Tuesday, up from N1607.15 the previous day. This marks a N6.15 increase compared to Monday's rate of N1607.15.

Similarly, the Naira strengthened in the black market, trading at N1607 per dollar on Tuesday, an improvement from N1610.

On Monday, the Nigerian currency had already recorded a significant gain.

These back-to-back appreciations of the Naira occurred despite the ongoing hunger protests, which began last Thursday and continued into their sixth day on Tuesday.
