The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) is now accepting applications from qualified Nigerians for the 2024 Basic Military Training Course for airmen and airwomen.


In a statement released on Wednesday, Air Vice Marshal Ahmed Bakari, Chief of Air Staff, emphasized that applicants should submit only one application online, as multiple submissions will lead to disqualification.


Applicants are required to print out the acknowledgment form, parent/guardian consent form, and local government attestation form after completing the online application. These documents must be signed by a military officer or a local government chairman.


Eligibility Criteria:


- Applicants must be Nigerian citizens by birth and possess a National Identity Card (NIN) or BVN.

- Male applicants must be at least 1.66m tall, while female applicants must be at least 1.63m tall.

- Applicants must be medically, physically, and psychologically fit, and free of any criminal convictions.


Age Requirements:


- Non-tradesmen and women: 18 to 22 years old (born on or after September 20, 2003).

- Tradesmen and women: 18 to 25 years old (born on or after September 20, 2000).

- Applicants for chaplain, Imam assistant, drivers, and mechanics: 18 to 28 years old (born on or after September 20, 1997).


Educational Qualifications:


- Minimum of five credits, including Mathematics and English, in no more than two sittings in WAEC, NECO, GCE, or NABTEB.

- ND/NCE holders must have at least a lower credit from accredited institutions and meet the minimum of five credits requirement.

- Applicants for technical roles such as driver, carpenter, mechanic, plumber, mason, electrician, painter, and building technologist must have trade test certificates and at least two passes in WAEC/NECO/GCE/NABTEB, including a credit in English Language.

- Applicants for medical-related professions must have an ND from recognized Nigerian institutions and a valid practicing license.

- Sports applicants must provide evidence of experience, including certificates and medals.


Application Process:


- Online registration is open from August 21 to October 2, 2024.

- The zonal recruitment general aptitude test will begin on October 8, 2024.

- All NAF registration and recruitment processes are free of charge, and no payments are required at any stage.
