Adeyanju Warns of Nigeria's Imminent Crisis

Deji Adeyanju

Activist Deji Adeyanju has sounded an alarm over Nigeria's deteriorating economic conditions, drawing parallels with Bangladesh. He believes the country is on the brink of a major crisis due to the unbearable hardship faced by its citizens.

Adeyanju, in an interview with Al-Jazeera, argued that the government should view the planned protests as a wake-up call rather than a threat. He stressed that the increasing economic pressure on Nigerians is a ticking time bomb, and the government's failure to address the situation could lead to catastrophic consequences.

He warned that if the government continues to ignore the plight of the people, Nigeria could follow a similar path as Bangladesh, where widespread protests erupted due to unbearable economic conditions. Adeyanju emphasized that the government is out of touch with the realities faced by ordinary Nigerians, comparing the situation to the Titanic disaster where those in upper-class cabins were oblivious to the impending doom.
