Matthijs de Ligt |
Manchester United has extended a five-year contract offer to Bayern Munich defender Matthijs de Ligt.
According to Sky Germany, De Ligt is interested in making the move.
It is also reported that United has initiated preliminary discussions with Bayern to explore the terms of a potential transfer.
Erik ten Hag, who previously coached De Ligt at Ajax, is eager to bring the defender to Old Trafford for the upcoming season.
Bayern values the 24-year-old at €50 million (£42.4 million) including add-ons.
However, United also maintains an interest in England defender Jarrad Branthwaite but will only pursue him further if Everton lowers their asking price.
