Transfer: Man Utd Eyes Chelsea’s Chalobah
Trevoh Chalobah

Manchester United have expressed interest in Chelsea defender Trevoh Chalobah, with the 25-year-old potentially set to leave Stamford Bridge this summer.

Reports indicate that Chalobah is “disappointed” after being excluded from Chelsea’s pre-season tour in the USA.

Journalist Ben Jacobs revealed to GIVEMESPORT on Monday, “Trevoh Chalobah is contracted to Chelsea until 2028, so he can be selective about his next club. He is naturally disappointed to have been left out of Chelsea’s pre-season tour of America, but won’t leave unless the move is right.”

Chalobah, a product of Chelsea’s youth academy, has made 58 Premier League appearances since his debut in 2021. However, new Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca does not prioritize retaining the defender, with the centre-back position deemed overcrowded due to recent signings and players returning from injury.

Although no concrete offers have been made for Chalobah yet, Chelsea are reportedly seeking a fee of around £25 million, potentially aiming for closer to £30 million.

Jacobs added, “Multiple Premier League clubs have shown interest, including Manchester United, but Chelsea have not received any offers yet.”

The Red Devils are looking to strengthen their defense following the departures of Raphael Varane and Willy Kwambala.

Chalobah, who can play both centre-back and right-back, could be a more cost-effective and versatile option for United compared to other targets like Matthijs de Ligt and Jarrad Branthwaite.

Described as a “monster” by Football Talent Scout Jacek Kulig, Chalobah currently earns £50,000 per week at Chelsea. Despite his popularity among Chelsea fans, it appears new manager Maresca has different plans for the squad’s composition.

In related news, Manchester United are also reportedly in talks with Bayern Munich right-back Noussair Mazraoui’s agent, as they continue to explore defensive reinforcements.
