Transfer: Chelsea Deem Osimhen Too Expensive Amid Lukaku Negotiations

Chelsea have stated that Victor Osimhen remains too costly, even after Napoli lowered their asking price.

Napoli are open to letting Osimhen leave this summer. The Nigerian striker has a €130m (£110.8m) release clause in his current contract.

Despite interest from Chelsea, Arsenal, and Paris Saint-Germain, none of these clubs have shown a willingness to meet Napoli's demands.

This situation has put Napoli in a difficult position, as they are counting on Osimhen's transfer fee to finance their summer spending, which includes a potential deal for Romelu Lukaku.

Napoli have initiated talks with Chelsea regarding Lukaku, but the Premier League club is holding out for a team to meet the Belgian international's £38m release clause.

According to Corriere dello Sport, Lukaku is keen to reunite with Conte at Napoli, and Chelsea might be willing to accept a lower fee of around €25m (£21.1m) to facilitate the transfer.

During their discussions, Napoli indicated they could reduce Osimhen's valuation to €100m (£84.6m). However, Chelsea still consider this amount too high, especially after agreeing on a £42m fee with Aston Villa for Colombian striker Jhon Duran last month.
