Oluremi Tinubu |
Nigeria’s First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, has expressed that her husband, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has a deep love for Nigerians despite the current economic challenges.
The First Lady made this statement during a courtesy visit to the Oba of Lagos, Oba Rilwan Akiolu, as reported by her Media Aide, Busola Kukoyi, on Tuesday.
She reassured that President Tinubu is committed to addressing the nation's challenges. “I assure you that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will do well for this country. He loves Nigeria, he loves Nigerians, and will do the best for them,” she said.
Oba Akiolu also urged Nigerians to be patient with the Tinubu administration. “All that I am saying and appealing is that we should pray for Nigeria and the president. We should be patient. Everything good needs prayers,” he stated.
This comes as Nigerians face high headline and food inflation rates of 34.19 percent and 40.87 percent, respectively. As a result, the purchasing power of Nigerians has continued to decline, leading to increased hardship.
DAILY POST reports that Nigerians have planned a nationwide protest starting on August 1, 2024.
