Three Die from Cholera in Benue

In the past two weeks, three individuals have succumbed to a cholera outbreak in Benue State.

This was confirmed by Dr. Henry Ijabo, the Benue State Epidemiologist, on Tuesday in Makurdi.

Speaking to the press, Ijabo revealed that out of the 13 cholera cases reported in the state, 10 are currently under close observation by the epidemiological unit.

He urged residents to take necessary health precautions, such as avoiding open defecation, noting that there is currently no vaccine for cholera.

Ijabo identified Agatu, Ado, and Otukpo LGAs as the areas most affected by the cholera outbreak.
