Some Nigerians Have More Cash Than I Do – Dangote |
Africa’s richest man, Aliko Dangote, has stated that there are Nigerians with greater financial resources than himself.
Speaking to members of the House of Representatives who visited his refinery in Lagos on Saturday, the billionaire expressed his frustration at being unfairly labeled a monopolist.
Dangote explained that calling his group of companies monopolistic is disheartening and has discouraged him from investing in the steel industry.
“Monopoly is when you prevent others through legal means. No, it’s a level playing field where whatever Dangote received in cement, others received as well, and some even got more than us,” he said.
He also urged Nigerians to invest in the industry to help boost the country’s economy.
“Let other Nigerians take the initiative. We are not the only ones here. There are Nigerians with more cash than us. People should bring that money from Dubai and other parts of the world and invest in our homeland,” Dangote said.
