Man Loses Traditional Title for Supporting Hunger Protest
Abdullahi Isah

The District Head of Bosso in the Minna Emirate Council, Niger State, Alhaji Mu’azu Adamu Laka Bosso, has removed Abdullahi Isah, also known as Biodun, from his position as Wakilin Matasan Bosso (Youth Leader of Bosso).

In a letter titled “Letter of Dismissal,” Alhaji Mu’azu stated: “I hereby write to inform you that you have been dismissed from your title as Youth Leader of Bosso (Wakilin Matasan Bosso) with immediate effect from 28/07/2024. You should no longer refer to yourself as Youth Leader of Bosso.”

Although the letter did not specify the reason for the dismissal, the district head later clarified in an interview with Tsalle Daya, a Hausa program on Prestige, that Biodun was stripped of his title for supporting the upcoming nationwide protest against hardship.

The district head emphasized that his domain would not tolerate any actions that could lead to a breakdown of law and order.
