Spanish wonderkid Lamine Yamal has revealed that he has never discussed a now-viral photo with Lionel Messi.
The photo shows Messi bathing Yamal when he was a toddler, and it has resurfaced as Yamal shines at Euro 2024 with La Roja.
In an interview with Jijantes FC, Yamal said, “I have never spoken to Messi about the photo where he was bathing me.
“At the time the photo was taken, I was obviously unaware.
“My father kept it, and we never shared it publicly because comparisons are never good.”
Both players made their mark at Barcelona, leading to comparisons between Yamal and Messi.
However, the 17-year-old acknowledges that he will never reach the heights achieved by the eight-time Ballon d’Or winner.
“No one minds being compared to the best player in history.
“But those comparisons will always remain because I will never be like him,” Yamal said.
