Fede Valverde has been given the prestigious number 8 shirt at Real Madrid.
This number became available after Toni Kroos decided to retire from professional football.
The club has officially announced that Valverde will don the jersey starting next season.
Meanwhile, Kylian Mbappé, who recently joined the La Liga and Champions League champions, will be wearing the number 9 shirt, as anticipated.
Out of respect for Luka Modrić, who currently holds the number 10 shirt at the Bernabeu, Mbappé did not request it.
