Kano Governor Confirms Sacking of Pillars Management

Kano State Governor, Abba Kabiru Yusuf, has confirmed the dismissal of the interim management team of the Nigeria Premier Football League side, Kano Pillars.

The governor's chief of staff, Shehu Wada Sagagi, confirmed this during a media chat in Kano.

Sagagi stated that the state Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Mustapha Kwankwaso, acted in accordance with the official stance of the state chief executive.

He explained that the government has initiated a reorganization process aimed at positioning the club to compete favorably among its soccer peers.

“The commissioner for sports oversees Kano Pillars, and they must be subordinate to him. It is always expected that he exercises due diligence,” Sagagi told the media.

“The commissioner did not act without the governor's approval. He has submitted his recommendations to the governor and is awaiting approval.”

It was recalled that the management board led by Alhaji Babangida Umar Little was dismissed last week.
