How Nigeria Can Overcome Challenges – Sanusi |
Alhaji Muhammad Sanusi II, Emir of Kano, has acknowledged that Nigeria is grappling with inherited challenges.
The Emir made this statement during a courtesy visit by a delegation from the Kano state government to his Gidan Dabo palace on Thursday.
Sanusi emphasized that the nation cannot continue to dwell on these challenges, expressing confidence that they can be overcome with resilience and a positive attitude.
“I am confident that the nation as a whole faces inherited challenges, and the states do as well. However, the solution is not to lament over past issues but to take action.
“I believe that the people of Kano, with our history, resilience, and attitude, can overcome these challenges. It is crucial to provide leadership that organizes and empowers the people, encouraging them to stand on their feet rather than remain on their knees,” he said.
The Emir commended the state government for its policies on education, pension, and gratuity payments. He assured the delegation that his doors are always open for advice and consultations, and that the emirate would continue to pray for the state government's success.
Earlier, the state commissioner for information, Malam Baba Halilu Dantiye, informed the Emir that the delegation was there to showcase the achievements of the Kano government under Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf's leadership over the past year.
He also mentioned that the visit aimed to seek the Emir’s support in driving the state forward.
