Euro 2024: Van Dijk to Reflect on Future with Netherlands and Liverpool

Netherlands captain, Virgil van Dijk, has announced that he will be contemplating his future with both his national team and Liverpool in the coming weeks.
Van Dijk and his teammates were eliminated from Euro 2024 by England on Wednesday night.
Despite taking an early lead, the Dutch were defeated 2-1 by the Three Lions in the semi-final match held in Dortmund.
Having earned 75 caps over nine years with the Netherlands, Van Dijk is now considering his next career steps.
The 33-year-old also has one season remaining on his contract with Liverpool.
“I have no clear idea at the moment. This summer, I will carefully consider what I want at both club and international levels. Then we’ll move forward, but first, I need to recover from this,” Van Dijk told reporters.
“After a season like this, with so many events, it becomes emotional at the end because you know it’s over.”
