Southgate's Passionate Admission on Winning the Final |
England manager Gareth Southgate has confessed that his desire to win Euro 2024 is so intense that "it hurts."
The Three Lions are set to face Spain in the final in Berlin on Sunday.
This marks the second consecutive final Southgate has led the team to, following their penalty shootout loss to Italy three years ago.
England is also aiming to secure their first major trophy since 1966.
“I understand the job now and I’m my own toughest critic, constantly reviewing everything.
“I recognize the body of work we’ve put in and how we’ve managed different groups of players to achieve our goals.
“I want to win so much it hurts, but I can handle whatever comes. I know it won’t change how my dog greets me when I walk back through the door,” Southgate said.
