Euro 2024: Ronaldo Reflects on Penalty Miss Against Slovenia |
Portugal captain Cristiano Ronaldo has shared his thoughts on missing a crucial penalty during their victory over Slovenia in the ongoing Euro 2024 tournament.
The Al Nassr forward expressed his feelings after Jan Oblak saved a penalty that could have prevented the match from going into a shootout.
Ronaldo missed the chance to give his team the lead after Slovenia conceded a penalty in the 105th minute.
Speaking at the post-match press conference to Sport TV, Ronaldo said, “Inexplicable moments, highs and lows, that’s what happened today.
“I need to review it; I’m not sure if I shot well or poorly.”
The 39-year-old also reminded fans that this was his first miss of the year.
He added, “I hadn’t missed a penalty all year, and when it mattered most, Oblak saved it.”
