Edo: APC Not Responsible for PDP's Internal Crisis - Oshiomhole

Senator Adams Oshiomhole, representing Edo North, has clarified that the All Progressives Congress (APC) is not involved in the crisis surrounding the Peoples Democratic Party's (PDP) primary election in Edo State. He emphasized that the law prohibits APC from interfering in PDP's internal conflicts.

The Abuja Federal High Court had previously nullified PDP's primary election, which elected Asue Ighodalo as their governorship candidate, due to the unlawful exclusion of 378 delegates.

Oshiomhole stated, "This is a purely internal PDP matter, and the lesson is clear: parties must obey the laws governing primary elections." He added, "By law, another party cannot intervene in intra-party conflicts in court. This is PDP versus PDP, and I suggest you dismiss any claims of APC involvement."

The senator acknowledged the long-standing divisions within Edo PDP, both before and after their primaries, and the ongoing disputes. He noted that the PDP legacy group feels marginalized, having been pushed out by the party's leadership.
