Borno State Government Denies Arrest of Governor Zulum's Son |
The Borno State government has refuted claims that Umara, Governor Babagana Zulum's son, was arrested for allegedly murdering an Indian national. Social media reports suggested that Umara, a student in New Delhi, attacked a Chinese national at a nightclub over a woman.
Abdurrahman Ahmed Bundi, Senior Special Assistant to Governor Zulum on New Media, issued a statement on Wednesday denying these allegations. He emphasized that none of the governor's sons were involved in any criminal activities.
Bundi urged the public to be cautious about sharing unverified information. He clarified that Governor Zulum was on a vacation in Saudi Arabia for the 2024 Hajj and later attended a conference in Egypt. The government warned those spreading false information to retract their statements and apologize within 24 hours or face legal action.
The statement called for responsible journalism and urged the public to rely on credible sources for information.
