On Sunday, Boko Haram terrorists launched a deadly assault on the Police Divisional Station in Jakana, located in the Konduga Local Government Area of Borno State.

The attack tragically claimed the lives of a policeman and his wife.

Intelligence sources reported that the terrorists, arriving in large numbers, engaged the police in a fierce gun battle before overpowering them.

The attackers set fire to two police patrol vehicles and a Civilian Joint Task Force vehicle, and made off with a motorcycle. The incident was confirmed by counter-insurgency expert Zagazola Makama, who operates in the Lake Chad area.

Efforts by SaharaReporters to reach Kenneth Daso, the spokesperson for the state police command, were unsuccessful as he did not respond to calls. However, state police commissioner Yusuf Lawan confirmed the incident through Zagazola Makama. The attacked police station is situated in Jakana, approximately 45 kilometers from Maiduguri, along the Damaturu-Maiduguri expressway.
