Former Super Eagles midfielder, John Mikel Obi, has shared his thoughts on the Ballon d’Or debate.

Speaking on his podcast, Mikel Obi praised Manchester City’s Rodri, calling him “the best player in the world.”

Rodri is among the contenders for this year’s Ballon d’Or, alongside Real Madrid stars Jude Bellingham and Vinicius Jr.

The 28-year-old played a crucial role in Spain’s flawless Euro 2024 campaign.

Spain ultimately defeated England to secure their record fourth European Championship title in Germany last summer.

“In my opinion, the best player in the world right now is Rodri,” Mikel Obi stated.
