Alleged Fraud: Ganduje, Wife, and Six Others to Appear in Court Thursday


The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, along with his wife Hafsat and six others, are scheduled to appear before a Kano State High Court on Thursday. They face charges related to alleged bribery, diversion, and misappropriation of funds amounting to billions of naira.


The suit was filed by the NNPP-led Kano State Government and will be heard by Justice Amina Adamu Aliyu.


On June 5, the court granted permission for the applicants to serve the respondents through substituted means. This was carried out on June 6, 2024, via advertisements in two national newspapers, Daily Trust and The Nation.


The respondents in the case are Abdullahi Umar Ganduje (1st respondent), his wife Hafsat (2nd respondent), Abubakar Bawuro (3rd respondent), Umar Abdullahi Umar (4th respondent), Jibrilla Muhammad (5th respondent), Lamash Properties Limited (6th respondent), Safari Textiles Ltd (7th respondent), and Lesage General Enterprises (8th respondent).


At the previous court session, only Nuraini Jimoh (SAN) represented the sixth respondent, Lamash Properties Limited. The other respondents, including Ganduje, were not represented. Justice Amina Adamu Aliyu has scheduled the hearing for July 11.
