79-Year-Old Man Abducted in Kaduna Community |
A 79-year-old man, Comrade Elder Takai Agang Shamang, was kidnapped from his home in Bikini-Tsoraurang, Manchock, Kaura Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
According to Daily Trust, the abduction occurred between 7:30 pm and 8:00 pm on Friday.
Mrs. Grace Yohannah Abbin, Manager of Salama Sexual Assault Referral Center (SARC) in Kafancha and one of the victim's children, confirmed the incident on Sunday morning.
She reported that a large group of kidnappers broke into her father's residence and forcibly took him away.
Comrade Shamang, known for his extensive philanthropic work and dedication to the Labour Congress, is a well-respected figure in the community.
Mrs. Abbin stated that authorities in Kaduna State are investigating the incident and efforts are underway to secure his release. "The community and family members are appealing to the public for any information that could aid in his safe return," she said, adding that the family, friends, and well-wishers of Comrade Shamang remain hopeful for a positive resolution and his safe return home.
Attempts to reach the Kaduna Police Spokesman, Mansir Hassan, for a reaction were unsuccessful as his number was not reachable at the time of this report.
