Zamfara: Mandatory Tricycle Registration Enforced by ZSIRS |
The Zamfara State Internal Revenue Service (ZSIRS) has announced that starting Monday, 10th June 2024, it will enforce mandatory registration for tricycle operators who have yet to comply with the Board’s regulations.
The Executive Chairperson of ZSIRS, Hajiya Rakiya Ahmed Dodo, made this known via the Director of Information and Intelligence Gathering, Alhaji Hadi Bawa Gusau, during a press briefing in Gusau, the state’s capital, on Saturday.
Dodo emphasized the necessity of the measure, noting that criminal elements have been exploiting the tricycle business to perpetrate crimes against society’s unsuspecting members.
She stated, “In light of this directive, all tricycle operators are urged to promptly register their vehicles to avoid penalties from the Service’s enforcement team, which will begin operations next Monday.”
The head of ZSIRS also mentioned that the compulsory registration initiative aims to help mitigate the security issues currently faced in the state.
