Senator Oluremi Tinubu's Food Distribution in Nasarawa

Senator Oluremi Tinubu, the First Lady, has reiterated the current government's dedication to aiding Nigerians, including families and those in vulnerable situations, to achieve a better quality of life.

This commitment was highlighted in Lafia, Nassarawa State on Tuesday, where Senator Tinubu oversaw the handout of foodstuffs to the locals as part of the Renewed Hope Initiative Food Outreach Scheme.

Represented by the vice president's spouse, Hajiya Nana Shettima, the First Lady expressed gratitude towards the populace for their trust in President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's leadership and the Renewed Hope Initiative.

The outreach's aim is to assist the less fortunate, aligning with President Tinubu's pledge to ensure no one is excluded from the nation's food security and abundance efforts.

As a result, a substantial quantity of various food items was gifted to the state authorities for distribution to specific communities, thanks to a generous and civic-minded business sector's pledge to supply these goods monthly.

The First Lady mentioned that the food drive focuses on internally displaced individuals, those with disabilities, residents of leper colonies, and other at-risk demographics, with plans to extend the program nationwide to improve food accessibility.

She stated, "To date, the Federal Capital Territory, Kano, and now Nasarawa have received benefits from the initiative under the Social Investment Programme of the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI). God willing, Benue State will be our next destination, with other regions to follow in time.

"The Renewed Hope Initiative also encompasses additional projects centered on health, agriculture, education, and economic empowerment to enhance family life across the country.

The RHI has thus far contributed agricultural tools, monetary aid to women farmers, numerous scholarships for college students, training in information and communication for women, financial support for seniors, and other similar endeavors," she explained.

Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State, represented by his deputy, Dr. Emmanuel Akabe, remarked that the First Lady's RHI is known for its care towards women, youth, and children, providing them much-needed comfort.

He acknowledged the contribution, noting that the donation significantly alleviates hardship.
