Nigerian music sensation, Chimamanda Pearl Chukwuma, better known as Qing Madi, has acknowledged her mother's crucial influence on her musical journey.
The young 17-year-old artist gave her mother the accolades for recognizing her singing ability and motivating her to pursue a career in music.
In a conversation with reality TV personality, KimOprah, on the Hip TV show 'Trending,' Qing Madi expressed that her mother had a greater zeal for her musical gift than she did herself.
She mentioned that being an artist was not originally among her aspirations.
"It was my mom who realized I could sing, not me. She took a proactive role in my career when I lacked the enthusiasm for it.
"She had a stronger desire for it than I did. There were many things I aspired to be, but an artist wasn't one of them," remarked the singer known for 'Adenuga.'
Qing Madi rose to fame with her hit single 'See Finish' in 2022 and the subsequent 'Ole' featuring BNXN, which became a sensation on TikTok in 2023.
