President Tinubu Pledges Continuation of Economic Reforms

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has reaffirmed his administration's dedication to continuing the economic reforms currently underway and to implementing measures that will stabilize the nation's economy.

He further stated that Nigeria is dedicated to a balanced energy transition strategy, as the nation still needs significant investment in the oil and gas industry to satisfy its people's energy requirements and economic aspirations.

During a meeting with the Group Chief Executive of Standard Chartered Bank, Mr. Bill Winters, in Abuja on Monday, President Tinubu advocated for an equitable energy transition that would benefit vulnerable populations throughout the country.

The president noted that oil and gas are Nigeria's main sources of income, stating, "As our allies, we do not anticipate you to withdraw from investments in this domain. We are preparing for the future while wisely exploiting the present.

"Yes to green industry and energy. We will definitely keep pace with these developments. To embark on a marathon, you need energy now. Nigeria possesses the most extensive gas reserves in Africa. We are aware that we can capitalize on the immense potential within this sector. We do not wish for you to retreat from fossil fuels."

Mr. Winters, in his response, commended President Tinubu for his decisive economic reforms, acknowledging the support and recognition from the global investment community.
