Nigerian Pilgrim Returns €1,750 Found in Saudi Arabia |
Muhammad Na’Allah, a Nigerian pilgrim from Gumi Local Government Area of Zamfara State, has once again displayed exemplary character by returning €1,750 (One thousand, seven hundred and fifty Euros) he discovered at the Haram in Makkah, Saudi Arabia.
He handed over the money to the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), which will ensure it reaches its rightful owner.
This act of integrity is not the first of its kind among Nigerian pilgrims; previously, Abba Limawa from Dutse Local Government Area of Jigawa State had returned a sum comprising 10,500 Russian Rubles, 800 Dollars, and 690 Saudi Riyals.
The NAHCON chairman, Malam Jalal Ahmad Arabi, received the €1,750 from Na’Allah at the commission's Ummuljud office in Makkah. He commended the pilgrim for his deed, which he said reflects the meaning of his name (Na’Allah) and his spiritual connection to Allah.
Arabi remarked to the Zamfara State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board officials, "This act is a testament to the positive influence of the pilgrimage on his moral and ethical conduct."
Last week, Arabi also praised Limawa, 52, for his honesty and for upholding Nigeria's reputation internationally.
Na’Allah recounted finding the money in a waist bag on his way to the Masjid Haram (Mosque). Despite his initial hesitation, he picked it up, thinking it might belong to a fellow Nigerian. Upon finding no indication of Nigerian ownership, he promptly reported the find to an official of the Jigawa State Pilgrims Welfare Board.
The official lauded Na’Allah for his integrity and took responsibility for delivering the money to NAHCON, ensuring it would be returned to the owner. Limawa's actions have been celebrated as a shining example of honesty and character.
