| Katsina Assault: Gov Radda Commits to Banditry and Criminal Acts |
Governor Dikko Umaru Radda of Katsina State has made a firm commitment to put an end to banditry and all criminal activities within the state.
Governor Radda has stated that his government is in active collaboration with the Federal Government and all pertinent security organizations to devise a thorough security plan aimed at terminating banditry and other criminal acts in the state.
He conveyed his deep sorrow regarding the recent brutal attack on innocent individuals in Gidan Boka village, located in the Kankara Local Government Area of the state.
The governor labeled the violent act that sadly took the lives of 26 individuals, including valiant security personnel, as utterly senseless.
In a document endorsed by his Chief Press Secretary, Ibrahim Kaula Mohammed, the governor offered prayers for the peaceful rest of the souls who passed away and for solace to the grieving families during this challenging period.
The document states: “The recent assault signifies a major hindrance in the continuous endeavors to guarantee the safety and security of all residents of Katsina.
“Governor Radda acknowledges the relentless efforts of the security forces who are persistently battling these criminal elements that are a threat to the state's tranquility.
“The administration led by Radda is resolutely dedicated to the elimination of banditry and all criminal behaviors within Katsina State. The State Government is vigorously collaborating with the Federal Government and all relevant security agencies to execute a comprehensive security strategy to abolish this threat.
“Governor Radda has promised an intensified security presence in Kankara and other susceptible regions. He has also highlighted the need for improved intelligence-gathering methods to proactively detect and interrupt criminal activities across the state.”
Recognizing the significance of cooperation with local communities, Governor Radda stressed the necessity to closely engage with community leaders to establish trust and encourage a culture of sharing information.
Acknowledging the fundamental causes of insecurity, which he believes are often rooted in poverty and lack of opportunities, he reassured that there will be ongoing investments in developmental programs that generate employment and empower communities.
He voiced his belief that through these collective efforts, the state will be able to terminate the violence and establish enduring peace for the citizens of Katsina State.
Governor Radda has called on anyone possessing information about the culprits of the attack to step forward and inform the authorities, stating, “we are determined to relentlessly pursue justice for the perpetrators.
“At this juncture of unity and determination, we urge all residents of Katsina to maintain their composure and support our security forces. United, we shall overcome these malevolent forces and construct a more secure future for our state,” Governor Radda implored.
