Kano State Endorses AREWA24's New Facility

The Kano State Government has expressed its complete support for AREWA24 Television and AREWA24 Productions to set up a permanent facility within the state.

During the 10th-anniversary festivities of AREWA24, Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf announced this commitment. AREWA24 was initiated in 2014 to broadcast superior, indigenous Hausa language entertainment and lifestyle shows that showcase northern Nigerian culture's richness.

Governor Yusuf, represented by his spokesperson, Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, lauded AREWA24 for its role in generating employment and acknowledged the station's high-quality programming and its influence on the local community. He encouraged the station to select a fixed site in Kano, promising full backing from the state government to achieve this goal.

Additionally, Governor Yusuf appealed to AREWA24's CEO and its executives to provide training for personnel from the state's media outlets to bolster service quality and build capacity.

AREWA24's CEO, Jacob Arback, speaking at the celebration, pondered on the channel's past and its aspirations for the future.

He highlighted the goal to evolve AREWA24 from a regional Hausa TV channel to a Pan-African media enterprise headquartered in Kano.

Arback expressed his desire to see Kano recognized as the uncontested hub of media, entertainment, production, and technology in West Africa, akin to cities like Lagos, Johannesburg, Accra, or Nairobi.
