Emir Muhammadu Sanusi II of Kano led the Juma’at prayer at Kofar Kudu Central Mosque in Kano, where he gave a sermon underscoring the importance of faith in Allah, the value of patience, and accepting one's destiny as an essential tenet of belief.
Sanusi declared that it's not within human purview to question the will of God, saying, "Those who believe that everything comes from Allah must embrace His decisions with full conviction. Allah's motives are beyond our questioning."
The Emir stressed the need for gratitude in all situations, good or bad, reinforcing that all occurrences are part of a divine plan, including those aspirations that remain unfulfilled.
With the advent of Zhul Hijja, Sanusi called for increased prayers and contemplation.
In a related development, Aminu Ado Bayero, the 15th Emir of Kano, observed his Friday prayer at the Nasarawa mini palace, amidst a large gathering of supporters.
The throne of Kano has been the subject of contention between Sanusi and Ado Bayero, leading to unrest in the city. Despite being dethroned by Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, Ado Bayero returned with military backing and has since been residing in the mini palace.
Amidst this strife, the Kano State police, under Commissioner Usaini Gumel, have received several conflicting court orders regarding the emirate conflict. These have been sent to the Office of the Attorney General of the Federation for legal guidance and clarification. The police maintain their stance of non-interference with judicial matters.
Commissioner Gumel has appealed to journalists for careful and professional reporting to help uphold peace and order during these times of legal complexity.
