| Worshippers Hurt as Man Ignites Fire in Kano Mosque Amid Prayers |

In Kano State's Gezawa Local Government Area, at Laraba Abasawa, Shafiu Aminu, a local inhabitant, ignited a mosque during prayer time.
The Daily Trust has reported that the early Wednesday incident resulted in injuries to several worshippers.
The community was in the midst of the 'Subh' prayer when the arson occurred.

There was a delay before outsiders became aware of the situation and could aid the victims who were attempting to escape.”
Reportedly, a minimum of 28 individuals, seriously wounded, were transported to Kano's Murtala Muhammad Specialist Hospital.
A local, Ibrahim Jibrin, shared with Daily Trust during their Wednesday visit, “I was on my way to the mosque when I witnessed a boy, ablaze, running and crying out for assistance.
"Prior to this, we were unaware of the unfolding events. He has previously assaulted individuals here twice. On one occasion, he struck his two elder brothers and then self-reported to the police, alleging their murder.”
He mentioned that the event stems from a longstanding family dispute.
Post-incident, Aminu voluntarily turned himself in to the police, as per the locals.
Multiple attempts to contact Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, the Police command spokesperson in Kano, were futile as he did not answer repeated calls.
