WAFU U-17: Golden Eaglets Ousted Following Loss to Cote d’Ivoire

The reigning champions, Nigeria's Golden Eaglets, were unseated by Cote d’Ivoire, who secured a 1-0 victory in their semi-final match at the WAFU B U-17 Championship.

Youbah Coulibaly netted the decisive goal for the Baby Elephants in the 54th minute.

Subsequently, the Eaglets were unable to score an equaliser.

Not only did they miss the chance to compete in the final, but Manu Garba’s team also did not secure a spot in the FIFA U-17 World Cup.

Next, they will compete against the host nation, Ghana, for third place on Tuesday.
