Professor Adolphus Loto, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Administration and Clinical Services at the University of Medical Sciences (UNIMED) in Ondo State, has been relieved of his duties due to a false petition filed against the university's management.

The institution's governing council conducted an investigation into the allegations and found them to be baseless and misleading. In response, UNIMED took decisive action to uphold its credibility and commitment to transparency and integrity.

According to the spokesperson of the institution, Temitope Oluwatayo, the removal of Prof. Loto was necessary to maintain trust and ethical standards within the university community. The Petitions Committee of Council (PCC) deemed the allegations unfounded and potentially damaging to the institution's reputation.

UNIMED Senate, in a unanimous decision on Monday, April 29, 2024, recommended the removal of Prof. Loto as the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, with 100 percent of the voters approving his dismissal from the position of DVC Admin.
