Real Madrid’s coach, Carlo Ancelotti, has decided not to let Andriy Lunin join the squad’s journey for the upcoming Champions League final against Borussia Dortmund.
According to The Sun, the goalkeeper will miss the trip to London due to a flu he contracted earlier in the week.
Lunin has been a regular player in the tournament after Thibaut Courtois suffered an injury.
His standout moment was during the penalty shootout win against Manchester City in the quarter-finals.
Real Madrid aims to claim the championship for an unprecedented 15th time.
Ancelotti’s team is scheduled to land in London on Thursday, while Marca indicates that Lunin is expected to arrive on Friday or Saturday, minimizing the risk of spreading his flu.
