Nigerian singer Tiwa Savage recently delved into filmmaking with her latest project, “Water & Garri.” The film, shot in Cape Coast, Ghana, shares its title with Tiwa’s second Extended Play released in 2021. Currently available for streaming on Amazon Prime, “Water & Garri” follows Aisha, portrayed by Tiwa, a determined fashion designer who returns to Nigeria after a decade in the United States.

Tiwa attributed the film’s success to her exceptional team, including Vanessa, who played a crucial role in achieving balance—both professionally and personally. As someone who initially loved acting before pursuing music, Tiwa hopes to inspire others to explore diverse talents and wear different hats.
“Water & Garri” represents one of Tiwa’s most adventurous endeavors, spanning two years of production. Directed by Meji Alabi, the film is a collaborative effort between Everything Savage and Unbound Studios, featuring talented actors like Jemima Osunde, Mike Afolarin, and Andrew Bunting.
