The appointment was formalized in a letter signed by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Senator George Akume, on May 20th, 2024.


President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has confirmed the appointment of ACM Shehu Mohammed as the new Corps Marshal and CEO of the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC).


The appointment was formalized in a letter signed by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Senator George Akume, on May 20th, 2024.


According to the letter, the appointment adheres to Section 7 (1) of the Federal Road Safety Commission Act, 2007, and is effective from May 20th, 2024.


Shehu Mohammed succeeds Dauda Ali Biu as the Corps Marshal of the commission.


The tenure of Mohammed's appointment is set for an initial four years starting from May 20th, 2024, as per the act that established the commission.
