Governor Abba Yusuf reinstated Sanusi to the position of Emir of Kano on Friday, following the deposition of the 15th Emir, Aminu Bayero.

Muhammad Sanusi, the 26th Emir of Kano, has termed his reinstatement by the state authorities as a rectification of the wrongs previously done to him.

Governor Abba Yusuf reinstated Sanusi to the position of Emir of Kano on Friday, following the deposition of the 15th Emir, Aminu Bayero.

The reinstatement occurred subsequent to the Kano State House of Assembly's consideration of the Kano State Emirate Council Amendment Bill, leading to the repeal of the 2019 Law that facilitated the establishment of five new emirates from the traditional Kano Emirates.

Despite a judicial order halting Sanusi's return to power, the official proclamation reinstated him.

In a meeting with security officials on Saturday, Sanusi claimed unawareness of the specific judicial order.

During the meeting, which lasted over an hour, "the emir communicated to us that the actions taken by the state government were a rectification of the injustices he had suffered before. He mentioned that he had not yet seen the court order that we mentioned, referring to it as a 'media court order' until it is presented to him," revealed a source acquainted with the discussions to Daily Trust.
