The Defence Headquarters has called on Katsina State Governor, Dikko Radda, to provide evidence supporting his allegations against the military. During an appearance on Channels Television's "Politics Today" on April 5, 2024, Radda accused the military of aiding and profiting from terrorism in Katsina State.

In response, Major General Buba Edward, Director of Defence Media Operations, stated that while the military would not engage in a war of words with the governor, they urged him to present his evidence to the military high command. The Armed Forces of Nigeria (AFN) emphasized its subservience to elected government representatives and maintained respect for the relationship.

Despite such statements capable of demoralizing troops, the military remains undeterred. They continue conducting operations and working diligently in the fight against terrorism. The AFN, led by Chief of Defence Staff General Christopher Musa OFR, maintains zero tolerance for indiscipline and criminality during operations. Standing court martials address any misbehavior by troops that negatively portrays the military to the public.

Citizens are encouraged to take ownership of the Armed Forces and report any observed misconduct within the ranks, ensuring appropriate military justice prevails.
