| Police Rescue Abducted Infant and 11 Market Women in Kwara State |
A joint team of security personnel in Kwara State successfully rescued 12 individuals, including a two-year-old child. The incident occurred when 11 market women, who had visited the Oke-Ode market in Ifelodun Local Government Area of Kwara State, were ambushed and abducted at Oyi Bridge in Yaaru/Olayinka village by kidnappers along the Ajase-ipo/Oke-Ode Road while returning from the market.
Ejire-Adeyemi Toun, the State Police Public Relations Officer, confirmed the rescue operation to journalists in Ilorin on Tuesday. The security team meticulously combed the forest in search of the kidnapped victims, successfully rescuing all of them. The injured individuals received medical attention at the General Hospital in Share, Ifelodun council, and have since been discharged after treatment.
Olaitan Oyin-Zubair, the Coordinator of the Kwara South Joint Community Security Watch, praised the joint security team for their gallantry and steadfastness in rescuing the abductees. The successful operation took place last Wednesday along the Ajassepo/Okeode Rd, near the Oyi Bridge between Yaru-Olayinka in Ifelodun council of the state. Their efforts are commendable!
