The Police Command in Kano State has advised the public to dismiss inaccurate reports spreading on social media that Alhaji Aminu Bayero, the 15th Emir, is scheduled to lead the Friday prayers at the Central Mosque.
In a phone interview with the News Agency of Nigeria on Friday, the Police Commissioner, Usaini Gumel, clarified that Bayero will perform his Friday prayers at the mosque situated within the Nasarawa Palace, his current residence.
The police encourage everyone to ignore the erroneous information being shared on social media platforms and to continue their daily routines without concern for harassment or threats.
“The police are committed to maintaining security, ensuring a safe environment for residents to carry out their Friday congregational prayers without endangering their safety or property,” he stated.
He also called on citizens to share trustworthy tips regarding suspicious individuals to enable swift and effective security measures within the state.
