One year in office: We're making progress – Tinubu |
President Bola Tinubu has expressed that his administration has been highly effective over the past year, emphasizing that his government is making good on its promises.
Speaking on Wednesday, Tinubu also commended Nigerians for maintaining 25 years of continuous democratic governance, encouraging the people to forge a nation for the future generations.
He cautioned against jeopardizing the country's democracy, stating that as Nigerians, "we must persist in our collaboration, work in unity, and construct our nation, considering we have no other homeland."
The President made these remarks during a joint session of the National Assembly, where he initiated the recitation of the old national anthem, "Nigeria, We Hail Thee."
DAILY POST notes that he had previously ratified the bill that replaced the current national anthem, "Arise O Compatriots," with "Nigeria, We Hail Thee," following its approval last Tuesday by the Senate and previously by the House of Representatives.
He also confirmed that his forthcoming address would be delivered on June 12, which is celebrated as Democracy Day.
