Newly invited Super Eagles player Sodiq Ismail tallied his 13th assist of the season during Remo Stars' 3-2 loss to Kwara United on Sunday.
The defeat caused Remo Stars to fall to third place in the standings.
The loss hindered Daniel Ogunmodede's team's prospects of securing their inaugural NPFL championship.
Kwara United quickly gained a three-goal advantage with scores from Wasiu Alalade, Isaiah Ejeh, and an own goal by Ahmed Akinyele.
Nonetheless, the visiting team narrowed the gap with two late goals from Franck Mawuena and Dayo Ojo.
Rangers intensified their pursuit of an eighth NPFL title with a decisive 3-0 win over Bayelsa United.
