The Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA) and its President-General, Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammad Sa'ad Abubakar III, have called on leaders to prioritize good governance and unity, as Nigerians eagerly await tangible positive changes. Speaking at the fifth anniversary of the 17th Emir of Lafia, Justice Sidi Bage-Mohammed (retd), the Sultan emphasized that secession is not the solution to the nation's security challenges.

Instead, he urged Nigerians to pray for their leaders' success and appealed to leaders to expedite action on addressing economic hardship and security issues. "Our leaders are trying, but the people are in a hurry to see positive changes that will renew their hopes for a better life," he said.

The event, attended by traditional rulers from across the country, showcased unity and solidarity. The Sultan encouraged Nigerians to follow their example, emphasizing that royal fathers are united in their commitment to the nation's progress.

Other dignitaries, including the Shehu of Borno and Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State, also spoke at the event, reiterating the importance of unity, security, and good governance. The Emir of Lafia expressed gratitude for the support he has received and expressed optimism about Nigeria's future unity.

The gathering, which included former governors, traditional rulers, and other notable figures, demonstrated a collective commitment to Nigeria's progress and unity.
