Nigerian Army Achieves Victory in Counter-Terrorism Operations

According to the Army's X platform, troops deployed for counter-terrorism operations in the North West, in collaboration with the Nigeria Police and State Community Watch Corps, engaged terrorists in a fierce gun battle at Danmusa in Katsina State, resulting in the neutralization of one terrorist and the recovery of arms and equipment.

In a recent update, the Nigerian Army has announced a significant triumph in its counter-terrorism efforts, successfully neutralizing terrorists and rescuing kidnapped victims in two separate operations in Katsina and Plateau States.

According to the Army's X platform, troops deployed for counter-terrorism operations in the North West, in collaboration with the Nigeria Police and State Community Watch Corps, engaged terrorists in a fierce gun battle at Danmusa in Katsina State, resulting in the neutralization of one terrorist and the recovery of arms and equipment.

The successful operation led to the seizure of:

- One AK-47 rifle

- Two rounds of 7.62 mm (Special) ammunition

- A motorcycle

- A bag containing four empty magazines and a power bank, potentially used for communication and explosive devices

In a separate incident, troops responded to a distress call on kidnapping activities along the Maraban-Jema'a road in Jos South Local Government Area of Plateau State. The kidnappers fled, abandoning a Peugeot 307 vehicle and two kidnapped victims, who were promptly evacuated for medical attention. The victims, Abdul Bello (owner of the abandoned vehicle) and Sekyen Melody Yapshak, are receiving treatment.
